**Please note: the book group has decided to read and discuss one book every two months.
For March we have chosen Round House by Louise Erdrich, winner of the 2012 National Book Award for fiction. The coming-of-age novel is about a teenage boy’s effort to investigate an attack on his mother on a North Dakota reservation, and his struggle to come to terms with the violence in their culture.
Please contact harriet.tower@att.net if you would like to join the group and our lively discussions.

I have not read the Round House; however, it was listed as a similar book to “The Light between the Oceans by M.L. Stedman.
The Light . . . . .Oceans is quite a wrenching story of a young women and her husband who are desperate to have children, but she can’t carry a child to term. It is set mostly on a tiny island on which a lighthouse is located to warn ships of the shoals in the area.
It is a very fast read, but very well written. Aussie terminology is sprinkled liberally through the book.
Is there any discussion on this book? I just finished it.
Jeanne, the branch’s book group listserv began its discussion of this book on March 25. If you would like to join the book group listserv, please contact the book group chair (Harriet). We’d be delighted to have any branch member join the book group!
