advance AAUW mission
Objectives to achieve that goal:
Action Plan:
All board members are authorized authors on the blog (as of
August 2009) and program co-chairs will recruit other

articles for the blog throughout the year. Ask each author
to write at least 4 articles during the year on an AAUW-mission
related topic.
Action Plan:
-
Advertise
and solicit funds for CA state programs, Tech Trek and
Speech Trek, twice during the year, in summer and again
in late winter/spring, using the blog and following up
with branch listserv messages. (Responsibility:
President)
-
Use the
branch blog throughout the year to keep branch members
informed about the work of AAUW funds (formerly known as
Educational Foundation), and use the branch blog and the
branch listserv to conduct a fundraising campaign for
those funds in October. (Responsibility: AAUW Funds [EF/LAF]
Chair)

state members-at-large (MAL) list and send a recruitment
email to that list by late September.
-
Work on
outreach strategies using Facebook and other social
networks to recruit people new to AAUW.
-
Create
interest groups with more opportunities for members to
interact.
Goals for the 2006-2007 year, set by
the board by consensus July 2006:

Reach out to prospective members,
especially women in the workplace whose needs are not filled by
traditional branch membership.
-
Promote networking among members.
-
Keep members and prospective
members informed and educated about AAUW priority issues.
-

discussion -- a new topic each month.
