California Online Branch Membership Information
A Little Background
The American
Association of University Women (AAUW), founded in 1881.
Membership is open to any
graduate with an associate or equivalent or baccalaureate or higher
degree from a regionally accredited college or university. In principle and practice AAUW values
and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full
participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed,
age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or class.
AAUW Mission:
AAUW advances equity for women and girls through
advocacy, education, and research.
AAUW Vision Statement: AAUW will
be a powerful advocate and visible leader in equity and education
through research, philanthropy, and measurable change in critical
areas impacting the lives of women and girls.
This branch, AAUW California Online, is the newest, most dynamic and
exciting "branch" of AAUW. We are on the cutting edge of
technology. We will be the model for branches to come. We
were created to meet the needs of the changing lifestyles and time
demands of our members. Join us and help us lead!

**Dual members are not required to pay Association or state dues if
they have already paid them through another AAUW branch.
Association Life Members (those who have paid the Association a lump
payment of 20 years of dues) are exempt from paying the Association
portion of the dues, but are still required to pay state and branch
dues.
Honorary Life Members (those who have paid Association dues for
50 years or more) may continue their membership in the Association,
state and the branch without paying any additional dues, after being
duly recognized as an Honorary Life Member by the Association.
Dues are assessed for the fiscal year, which begins on July 1,
and ends on June 30 of the following year. Dues of the new fiscal
year will be collected between April and June 15 of each year,
allowing enough time for the state and Association portion of the
dues to be remitted to those entities no later than June 30. Any
person joining the branch between January 1 and March 15 shall pay
full state dues, one-half of Association dues and one-half of branch
dues.
In addition to your membership dues, please consider adding something
extra. Maintaining an entirely new kind of group like this one
requires time and money. Annual dues do not cover the cost of
developing the branch, recruiting new members and offering new services
that will bring in even more new members. We need new software to
help us stay current, competitive, and viable in the quick-change
climate of cyberspace. Your donation will help enormously.
Please
join now and pay by credit card.
If you wish to renew by mail or fax, please
print out a renewal/donation form.
Please send your check payable to "California Online Branch".
When you send in your dues, if possible, add $10, $20, $50, or $100 to
help us continue to grow our branch.
